COHVCO Land Use Issues and Litigation

COHVCO is NOHVCC's 2006 State OHV Association of the Year
Saturday, April 7, 2007
As the NOHVCC Associate for Colorado, I am pleased to announce that the Colorado Off Highway Vehicle Coalition (COHVCO) has just received national recognition after receiving the National Off Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) award for the 2006 State OHV Association of the Year.

Russ Ehnes, Executive Director of the NOHVCC presented the award to COHVCO for their "history of very successful OHV Management Workshops and the strides COHVCO has taken leading the way with the development of the DVD for GPS training and their Colorado Trail Patrol and "Stay The Trail" programs promoting education and awareness of responsible OHV recreation in Colorado".

The award was presented last week at the National Off Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) annual conference at the Marriott hotel in downtown Charleston, West Virginia, just 45 minutes away from the famous Hatfield McCoy trail system. Conference attendees from states all over the country and from many Canadian provinces as well, were given the opportunity to experience hundreds of miles of trials and ride a variety of terrains and skill levels. A great time was had by all.

The NOHVCC is a national body of OHV recreation enthusiasts, that develops and provides a wide spectrum of programs, materials and information, or "tools", to individuals, clubs, associations and agencies in order to further a positive future for responsible OHV recreation.

Photos and the national press release will follow.

**PLEASE NOTE: This recognition would not be possible if not for the dedicated efforts of many volunteers and our partners at the USFS, BLM and Colorado State Parks.
